RH CONSTRUCTION uThungulu put on a huge team performance to pull off a seven run victory over DHS Rhythm – that had some overseas imports boosting the squad – in a Castle Premier League clash played at Addison Park on Sunday.
The home side won the toss and elected to pad up and head out to the middle first.
uThungulu played an extremely slow innings and eventually ended on 173/6 after 50 overs.
Jason Redinger anchored the innings with a mature 76 not out, with Gary Park notching up 43.
K Hodnett 3/31 in 9 overs was the pick of the DHS bowlers.
Needing just 3.46 runs per over proved manageable for the chasing team in the first 40 overs.
But Neill Jordan 3/37 in 10 and a contribution of great death bowling from all other bowlers in the team, snatched the win for the home team.
DHS Rhythm were bowled out for 166 in the 49th over.
