AN unlicensed firearm and ammunition was recovered on yesterday and a 60-year-old Nongoma man arrested and charged by the Ulundi Public Order Police.
According to SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Naicker, the Ulundi police were in the area when they received intelligence with regards to the illegal firearm.
‘Police found the suspect in his house and during a search of his premises they found he was in possession of a .38 revolver with three live rounds.’
The recovered firearm will be sent for ballistic investigations to establish if it was used in any crimes in the country.
