DECIDING to venture to Richards Bay for New Years Eve, I was really excited about having a good time.

But arriving at Naval Island (apparently the place to be) I was so embarrassed at the level of immaturity and indecency of all those gearing up for the festive night.

Not only was there a huge number of underage drinkers, but there were countless numbers of children running around wild and unattended while their parents and/or older siblings enjoyed one too many drinks.

Not to mention the firecrackers which were purposely being let off at trees, cars and even people.

What happened to morals? I understand New Year’s eve is all about having fun, but a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Acts like these make me truly embarrassed to call myself a member of the community.
