Teen beauty claims national crown
Richards Bay teen wears the crown as Miss Signature Cosmetics.
WITH a future career in modelling on the horizon, Richards Bay teen Tyler Moolman (17) is setting the benchmark for teen models after being selected as the new face of Miss Signature Cosmetics.
Something most girls only dream of, the Hoërskool Richardsbaai matriculant (2015) began her modelling journey in 2011 when she joined Trelique Modelling and Promotions Agency. She was also signed as a model for the renowned ICE Modelling Agency.
Tyler has also taken part in multiple events such as the Durban Fashion Fair, Vodacom Durban July and the DUT Fashion Show.
Miss Signature
Tyler’s random entry for the KZN Face of Miss Signature Cosmetics competition resulted in a spot in the top 40.
‘I noticed the competition on Facebook and thought it would be fabulous to enter. I sent in my photos and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had made the top 40 nationally. ‘Then, thanks to all my friends and family who supported me by voting, I made the top 10.’
Each top 10 contestant was required to organise a charitable initiative sponsored by Signature cosmetics. Tyler chose to do a ‘Signature Princess Pamper Party’ for Lungelo Youth Development (LYD), which she has been actively involved with throughout the year.
The finalists then ventured to Johannesburg where they spent four days together at a luxurious lodge to partake in activities from promotion work, presentations and fashion shows while being monitored by the judges.
Tyler was then crowned the new face of Miss Signature Cosmetics on 29 November and is gearing up for her first photo shoot in January.
Daily life
A natural all-rounder, Tyler enjoys her sport and takes part in hockey and athletics at school, as well as dancing.
Her dancing also includes caberet and modern dancing with Dance Incorporation.
Tyler plans to model internationally for a few years and then begin her studies in either Stellenbosch or Cape Town.
