Take a drive on the wild side

Visit Zululand's beautiful nature reserves this holiday.

WHILE visitors flock to the golden beaches, or do some fishing, diving or turtle- and whale-watching in the blue waters of Zululand, the lure of the bush provides a stunning alternative to holiday-makers.

The region is blessed with top-class game reserves including the uMkhuze, Eastern and Western Shores sections of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, where the Big 5 and countless other game are to be found.

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife parks include the Tembe Elephant Park and Ndumu game Reserve in the north and the centrally located Hulhluwe-iMfolozi Park (HiP).

The HiP has three entrances making it an ideal destination from Ulundi (through the Cengeni gate), Hluhluwe (Memorial gate) or Mtubatuba (Nyalazi gate).

Gates open at 5am and remain open until 7pm, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the experience.

Remember, lions in the park often rest in the trees, so keep your eyes peeled!
