YOUTH youth must be encouraged to honour and respect their elders, and take responsibility in eliminating crimes against them.
Those were words of uThungulu District Municipality Mayor, Cllr Thembeka Mchunu, during a special Christmas party for senior citizens in Richards Bay on Saturday.
Alarmed by various crimes against pensioners, Mchunu encouraged them to remain strong and show youngsters the right path.
Excited pensioners were treated to delicious meals and received food parcels and gifts, courtesy of the municipality.
