I WOULD just like to say thank you to the ladies at the uMhlathuze Waste Management Department, specifically Angel and her co-worker.

My bin was broken by the waste refuse collectors and they refused to take it.

I called them on Monday and they said a supervisor must come and see the damage and decide if it needs to be replaced.

The supervisor came on Wednesday and promised they would take the broken bin or the garbage bags and will issue a new bin when they get stock in January.

On Friday when the rubbish truck arrived they refused to take the bin and were extremely rude.

I called the office and Angel was very upset as they were told to take my bin, broken or not. She called me back and promised she would sort it out personally.

Later that afternoon Angel and another lady came themselves in the truck and took our rubbish and told me they would collect it themselves every week if they have to, but it will be collected. Two ladies came and took it when their own workers would not.

So a big thank you and well done to Angel for keeping her word and making dealing with the Waste Management Department a pleasure.
