POLICE have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the murder of three matric pupils near Alkantstrand.
The man has been charged with murder, attempted murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Pupils Thobani Mkhize, Philani Gumede and Bongumusa Mathenjwa died in the attack at the ‘Pens Down’ festival organised by pupils at the Bay Hall last weekend.
A fourth victim, 13-year-old pupil Sizwe Mtshali of Ntongande is recovering in hospital.
Police suspect the man did not act alone and are still investigating the case.
