Innovative Christmas activities for the family

WITH Christmas only a stones throw away one needs to think of things to do to keep the family busy.

Instead of doing the same old same old activities, such as watching How the Grinch stole Christmas for the hundredth time, there are a bunch of innovative activities to spend Christmas without killing cherished traditions.

Come dine with me: No need to cook every night. Agree on a budget and let the adults compete against each other by cooking for the family. The family then scores each competing family member. Instead of the winner getting something the one with the lowest scores has to do a certain chore the rest of the holidays, such as the dishes.
Give back: Get everyone to clean out their closets and peruse through the children’s toys and make a trip to the homeless shelter. Charity brings out the true meaning of Christmas.
Hide ‘n go present: Keep everyone in a room and let Santa hide all the gifts. Let everyone go look for their gifts and as soon as they find all their gifts, the gifts are then opened together by the tree.
Although there is nothing wrong with tradition, incorporating these new activities into the festive season will entertain your guests and allow you to relax this Christmas the way it is meant to be.
