IN a raid on a house just 200 metres from the Gingindlovu Police Station, specialised SAPS members recovered three illegal weapons and a large quantity of ammunition.
At about 9pm, the covert operation by Empangeni Crime Intelligence and the Gingindlovu Tactical Response Team led to the detection of two 12-bore shotguns and one 9mm pistol, along with a large number of rounds of ammunition.
The police, who were praised for their diligent efforts, believe the weapons may have been hired for an unidentified ‘hit’.
