Hurricanez sweeps top awards
Local hip hop group receive two awards at the Original Material Awards.
RICHARDS Bay’s emerging hip hop group The Hurricanez, scooped two awards at the 6th Original Material Awards event in Durban.
The Zululand rap gang received the Best Mix Tape of the Year and Best Producer of the Year awards.
They were honoured for the excellent work on their new mix tape, Team Gooo.
The Hurricanez outshined other hip hop groups from all over the country.
‘We are proud and grateful for the public’s support in Zululand. We thank everyone that voted for us, and our fans and families who have supported us since the beginning,’ the band members said.
The aim of the awards is to celebrate the rich hip hop culture in South Africa and recognise key role players in the industry.
