Rugby players hit a bulls eye

A friendly league will start on 19 November, with the new league kicking off in January.

RUGBY players can play darts.

That much was proved on Wednesday when a dominant Empangeni Rugby Football Club demolished Little Portugal 6-0 to claim their first league win in the Empangeni Darts Sports League at the Empangeni Rugby Football Club.Little Portugal went into the third league clash with a comfortable 2-0 lead after winning 6-1 and 6-4 in the first two encounters.

With this win and the league standing at 2-1, come this Wednesday matters will be interesting when the two teams clash again at Golf View Lodge,

If the league is tied, the two teams will have a sudden death showdown.

The home side was represented by Pieter van Rooyen, Hansie van Rooyen, Lee Graff, Chris Els, Victor Campher and Herman Steyn, with Willie van Rooyen, Lionel Viljoen, Ryan McEnery, Kobus Wernich, Justus Kilian and Baron Thring representing Little Portugal.

Four rounds are contested, which includes cricket, killer and 501.

Entry is free. One just needs a team of six players to enter the competition.
