THE worldwide average number of car-crash related deaths per 100 000 people per year is 18, but in some countries that number is more than double.
Here is a list of the 10 countries with the most road deaths according to the World Health Organization:
1. Namibia – 53.4
2. Swaziland – 48.2
3. Malawi – 45.4
4. Iraq – 44.7
5. Iran – 43.8
6. Thailand – 42.9
7. Congo – 42.4
8. Central African Republic – 39.7
9. Sudan – 39.2
10. Mozambique – 38.2
As you can see, Africa has seven countries in the top 10 list, which gives the impression that African people are reckless behind a steering wheel.
