T LOURENS and D van Vuuren managed to card 49 points under testing golfing conditions to claim victory at the Bell SADGA golf day organised by the uMhlathuze Round Table at the Richards Bay Country Club on Saturday.
It was a case of hit-and-stick for the 88 golfers who took to the wet and muddy fairways in the hopes of shooting solid rounds.
Despite the slow greens and difficult conditions, high scores were nevertheless carded owing to superb golf being played on the day.
Participants followed a 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford format over 18 holes.
All funds raised on the day went to the SA Disabled Golf Association, with the uMhlathuze Round Table donating R20 000.
