Awards for top uShaka swimmers

Mel Lawrence is the Swimmer of the Year.

RICHARD SPRINGORUM

CLUB swimmers were acknowledged for their hard work and achievements over the past year at the uShaka Swimming Club’s annual prize-giving ceremony held at the Richards Bay Country Club on Saturday, 4 October.

Mel Lawrence took home the main award of Swimmer of the Year after making huge waves in the pool this season.

‘I am very proud of all the individual winners and their achievements, but it is team uShaka who is the winner at the end of the day,’ said Head Coach Francois Boshoff.

‘I am extremely excited for the new season, because the first step of being a champion is to learn to outperform your personal abilities. Each and every swimmer in the club was able to accomplish that in one way or the other,’
