Sowing the Hip Hop seed at eShowe

eShowe youth celebrate the culture of Hip Hop at King DinuZulu Hall.

RAP (Rhythm and Poetry) is a genre of music that has its roots in New York City.

The young people of the 70s told stories of the living conditions, finances, dreams and struggles they faced through rhyming while standing at the corners of the streets of New York City.

This music gave birth to Hip Hop, a culture that is celebrated all over the world.

Hip Hop is composed of five elements which include rap music, graffiti, break dancing, djing, and knowledge.

On Saturday the eShowe youth celebrated this culture of Hip Hop at King DinuZulu Hall.

Despite technical glitches, the show went on.

For hip hop followers around the world, the stage is a platform of storytelling.

Some tell these tales through dancing, while others tell them through conscious words that are well thought through.

The house came on fire as DH Fam took to the stage with their energetic bass filled songs showing the novices how it is done. For eShowe this genre is slowly picking up momentum.

Directed to the young bloods, Kugza the General mentioned that hip hop needs one to have knowledge and encouraged cleanliness.
