AFTER drawn games in both their opening fixtures, Thanda Royal Zulu FC will be out to prove a point or three when they take on a cruising Vasco da Gama crew at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Saturday.
The Cape side have won two out of two and will provide a tough challenge to the Amabhubesi, but playing at home with good crowd support could provide a major upset on the National First Division log.
Thanda were relatively pleased with their good showing last time out away to a strong Baroka FC team, gaining a point in a goalless draw.
Keen to have a go at all three points this time round is Thanda Royal Zulu midfielder Jabulani ‘JB’ Ngcobeni, who says a win on Saturday can help ease the disappointment of the season’s slow start.
‘We have to win against Vasco, especially after the unfortunate draw with Baroka FC, where I feel we did everything right.
‘This will be a very big game for us as a good result will go a long way in building the players’ confidence going forward in the season.’
But Ngcobeni expects a tough match at the uMhlathuze Stadium.
‘All the Cape Town teams are hard to beat, their players fight for everything until the last breath, but we will definitely get a win on Saturday,’ he vowed.
Kick-off is at 3pm.
