Mission to change people’s lives
'Unizulu Vibes', is a community support project the students started two months ago.
FIVE University of Zululand students are on a mission to improve the lives of people in KwaDlangezwa.
Using ‘Unizulu Vibes’, a community support project they started two months ago, project leader Zwelakhe Maseko, Zipho Bukhosini, Blessing Nkhatha. Ndumiso Sangweni and Temusa Zwane aim to change other young lives.
They visited Ongoye High School last Wednesday to warn pupils about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.
‘Some pupils engage in activities which endanger their lives, so as young people in the know we have decided to take it upon ourselves to visit local high schools, talk to the youth and try and make a difference in their lives. We also aim to help local families who struggle to put food on the table with food parcels so they can feed their families,’ said Maseko.
‘The financial demands to remain sustainable are huge, so we obviously seek sponsors to help support the programmes,’
Anyone willing to help sponsor or participate in the Unizulu Vibes community project can contact Maseko on 074 9499399 or Bukhosini on 073 7481530.
