THE Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) narrowly lost their seat in Ward 4 of the Jozini by-elections held last week by a mere nine votes to the African National Congress (ANC).
The three-way poll was also contested by the National Freedom Party (NFP).
The Ward has 4 006 registered voters, of whom 63.28% made their crosses.
Tholomuzi Wiseman Zikalala (ANC) won with a total of 1 229 votes, Mbongeni Nxumalo (IFP) garnered 1 220 votes and Matsheketshe Enock Manyanga (NFP) only 72 votes.
