Rowen lands the biggest catch
Anglers were rewarded for their success at the annual Zululand Shore Association prize giving.
TOP anglers reeled in the awards at the Zululand Shore Angling Association annual prize giving ceremony held at the Marché Private Hotels Dungeon in Kwambonambi.
Winners received trophies, medals and badges for their catches throughout the year and teams were selected to represent Zululand in various fishing competitions all over the country next year.
The highlight of the evening was when Protea selected anglers Julian Pybus, Liezel Steenkamp and Heather Tiltmann were recognised for their achievements for 2014.
They will compete at the World games in France and Namibia later this year.
The Top Club of the Year award went to the Tugela A and B teams, for both postal and fixed venue categories.
These two sides also took home the Annual Meet and Casting trophy.
Champion Angler of the Year went to Rowen Moodley who ended on 685.7 points for the season.
Heather Tiltmann scooped the Top Lady Angler of the Year award, with Julian Pybus bagging the Top Master Angler of the Year award.
The top 10 anglers were recognised for the achievements, and were as follows – 1 Rowen Moodley 685.7 points, 2 Dean Reddy 667.6 points, 3 Andre Mudaly 598.9 points, 4 Johan de Jager 550.7 points, 5 Denesh Sew 535.9 points, 6 Gert de Jager 533.5 points, 7 Julian Pybus 513.7 points, 8 Willie de Jager 505.1 points, 9 Johan van Ede 498.0 points and 10 Barry Tedder 460.3 points.
