Thanda look for fast start

WATCH: Amabhubesi set to fly

‘IT’S now or never for Thanda Royal Zulu FC.

‘After two near misses, this is our year to win PSL promotion,’ said Amabhubesi GM, Thabani Gumede.

Speaking ahead of their opening National First Division match of the season against Witbank Spurs on Saturday at 3pm, Gumede is adamant the team will hit the ground running.

‘After a disastrous start to the previous season, Thanda rallied in the NFD and we are, in fact, on an unbeaten 15-match streak that we must continue.’

‘We have kept over 90% of the players who achieved this feat, while Spurs lost virtually their entire squad and are in a rebuilding phase.

‘They are an unknown quantity but despite a few players out of our team for Saturday, we should dominate the game.’

Star defender, Junior Sekete, is out with an ankle injury and Evander Spandiel is nursing a knee problem, while Mazwi Mncube and new signing, Siyanda Khumalo, are still serving suspensions from late last season.

‘We need, once more, for our loyal fans to pitch up in numbers on Saturday as we all know that crowd support becomes an extra player,’ said Gumede.
