Heart of bronze for Hartley

Richards Bay paddler, Bridgitte Hartley brings home a medal from Moscow.

ZULULAND’S golden girl Bridgitte Hartley won bronze in the women’s 500m K1 final at the ICF Sprint Canoeing Championships in Moscow on Sunday.

Hartley crossed the line in a time of 1:50:496, to claim the medal, as well as a number three world ranking.

She narrowly lost out to Danuta Kozak form Hungary who won the event in a time of 1:49:283, with New Zealand’s Lisa Carrington claiming silver in 1:49:790.

This year’s championships took place in Russia from 6-10 August.
