MOST have been brought up or have heard of Herman Charles Bosman and his short stories of the ‘Groot’ Marico.
The stories have been told by many, but few have managed to climb into the soul of story-telling and pull off a convincing performance.
David Muller’s show, ‘Oom Schalk from the Heart’ not only tells the stories, but brings them to life, a true story-teller.
An audience of about 50 in The House in Zululand on Monday night, enjoyed a great evening out. Psalm 119, Peach Brandy and The White Rose were some of the stories performed.
Not only was the audience pulled into the time-zone of the stories, but they were also thoroughly entertained with the power of the word and simple actions, which did not distract from the story itself.
