
PANDEMONIUM broke out earlier today when a man fired shots into the air on the forecourt of the Total Service Station in Meerensee, Richards Bay.
And in a surprise twist, the man was apprehended within an hour after opening a case at the police station.
Footage captured on the CCTV camera showed the drama unfolding at around midday at the busy garage, just metres from a church pre-school.
Three vehicles were reportedly involved in the incident. It appears a car was boxed in between two bakkies. A man can be seen running from the car.
Petrol attendants and bystanders scattered for cover as a man steps onto the forecourt and shoots off two rounds.
He then calmly blows the smoke from the barrel of the gun and attempts to locate the spent cartridges on the ground.
He got back into one of the cars and drove off.
Police believe the the shooting was linked to a private feud and the man will be charged with discharging a weapon in public.
