Ngonje Trail Run coming up soon.

THE 2014 Ngoje Trail Run is only a month away, but the real question is,’Are you ready?’

Scheduled for Saturday, 2 August, the event has new title sponsors, eShowe Super Spar who will be backed by, among others, Cape Union Mart and East Toyota.

The Holy Childhood School is organising the event.

The routes will take runners in and around eShowe’s beautiful and breathtaking surroundings, whether you choose to stroll or trot, the organisors promise ‘breathlessness’.

The Ngoje is becoming one of KZN’s premier trail running event and attracts trail runners from all over the country.

Registration

Registration will start at the Gratton Lapa at 3pm on Friday, 1 August.

Entrants are advised to register on Friday and to avoid the rush on Saturday morning entries will still be open for the 10km and 5km races.

The 22km and 45km will close after registration on Friday.

The first 200 pre-entries for the 22km and 45km will receive a goodie bag including a Ngoje T-shirt

There will be a race briefing before each race, but competitors are encouraged to attend the briefing at the lapa at 6pm where a light supper, some informal ‘carbo loading’ and some advice regarding the route will be given.

On the day, there will be food and drinks for sale at the venue to make up for all those burned calories.

The trail run

The Ngoje is a self-sustained endurance trail and, although there are water tables en-route, entrants are requested to bring their own sustenance for their races, in true trail style.
