Wrestling comes at a steep price

LOCAL wrestler, Kleinjan Combrinck and coach/dad, Jan Combrinck have been selected by the South Africa Wrestling Federation to represent the SA Junior U20 wrestling team for both Freestyle and Greco-Roman at the 2014 Junior World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

Unfortunately the cost is R35 100 per team member, which makes the amount R70 200 for the Combrinck family.

The father and son duo will jet off on 2 August and return on 12 August.

Jan has coached the KZN and SA Level 3 teams, with Kleinjan packing 13 years of wrestling experience, which includes – SA Champion (20 times), SA Team member (five consecutive years), silver at U17 African Championships in Egypt (2010), SA team tour to Hungary (2011), gold at African Championships (2012), SA team tour to Turkey (2012), U17 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan (2012), bronze at Commonwealth Championships U35 (2013) and two bronze medals at the U20 African Championships in Alexandria, Egypt (2014).
