FAMILY and friends gathered at the Dickson Oval at Felixton College today to pay tribute to 12-year-old, Ashley Sclanders.
Ashley collapsed during her Dance Academy exam nearly two weeks ago. An autopsy showed the young dance student had an enlarged aorta.
Hundreds of people were at the memorial service led by Karl Rottcher.
Ashley’s peers in the junior school choir opened the ceremony followed by moving prayers and tributes.
Brian, Ashley’s brother remembered his sister with fond memories while her father, Oliver thanked the community for their support during their time of bereavement.
The service concluded with the Sclanders family and pupils from the Grade 7 class releasing white balloons into the air.
