Bay beauty shines on national stage
Skhulile Masuku is a finalist in the Mrs United Nation South Africa 2014 pageant.
RICHARDS Bay beauty, Skhulile Masuku, has been announced as one of the 12 finalists to compete in Mrs United Nation South Africa 2014.
At only 25 years of age, she is a loving wife and doting mother of a five-year-son, who has dedicated her life to an impressive long list of charitable projects and causes in Zululand.
She has been managing Mtubatuba-based non-profit early childhood development centre, Impucuko, since she was only 20-years-old and under her devoted leadership, the organisation was named Best Home Based ECD Centre in 2009 at the South African Early Childhood Development Awards.
In 2010, she started using the centre to host support groups for teenagers, tackling serious issues affecting them such as teenage pregnancies, substance abuse and peer pressure.
A year later, Skhulile co-founded the Ithubalakho foundation with her sister – a youth development project to equip disadvantaged pupils with basic computer skills and the support they need after high school.
And if that is not enough, Skhulile added to her many gifts by writing 18 children books, which she hopes to have published to donate to pre-schools and underprivileged communities in the foreseeable future.
‘My life’s purpose is deeply rooted in helping, inspiring and making a positive difference in as many people’s lives as possible.
‘And I thank God every day for helping me realise my purpose and giving me the strength to fulfil it and also find happiness through it,’ said Skhulile.
Blown away by Skhulile’s many efforts to uplift Zululanders in dire need, the Mrs United Nation South Africa Organisation’s director, Zanti Swanepoel said the local humanitarian is a deserving finalist and national delegate.
‘Entries streamed in from all over the country and Skhulile was selected as a worthy ambassador for married women in her province.
‘She has done her community proud!’ Swanepoel said.
The top three delegates will be selected at the final crowning event in Gauteng in November.
Mrs United Nation South Africa 2015 will be representing South Africa at the International event next year.
