Sunrise, Unizul take volleyball honours
Sunrise took on Unizul in the finals and fought their way to a 3-1 victory.
TEAMS took to the courts to participate in the uMhlathuze volleyball tournament at the Veldenvlei Sports Complex in celebration of Youth Day .
Hosted by uMhlathuze Volleyball, the tournament saw an invitational team, Correctional Sunrise of Swaziland, competing againast the local teams.
The women’s section Queens 1818, Unizul, Sandlwana and Blue Sky squared off, whilst the men’s category Sunrise, Unizul, Kings 1818, Spikers, Blue Sky and Sandlwana competed for the honours.
Teams competed in a round-robin system, which saw Sunrise of Swaziland top the men’s group after going unbeaten.
Sunrise took on Unizul in the finals and fought their way to a 3-1 victory.
The visiting team featured national players and they proved too strong for the local lads.
The women’s section saw Unizul claim victory after a three set tussle against Queens 1818 in the women’s final..
The students claimed a 2-1 win.
it was a great tournament we’d really like to see this kind of tournaments in our city of uMhlathuze taking place at least four times a year thanks to Mhlathuze Volleyball keep up good work
