LOCAL young chess masterminds gathered at the Richards Bay High School hall on Saturday for the Junior School Chess Tournament.
Tournament director Lisa Griffiths in conjunction with the uThungulu Chess Association ran the event, which saw Zululand youngsters show off their ‘chessing’ knowledge.
Moves were carefully calculated and recorded as the children did battle on the board.
‘We are trying to grow this wonderful game among the youth in Zululand,’ said Griffiths.
