We often read about poor service at government departments, however, the Richards Bay Department of Home Affairs (DHA) is an office that must be commended for their service delivery efforts.
The service is speedy and officials are happy to share a smile while ensuring that those in wheelchairs receive preference.
The new smart card was implemented at the end of March at the Richards Bay office and applicants have already began receiving the new cards.
Despite the office undergoing a revamp and a new look, work continues unaffected.
I even had the pleasure of meeting the head official, Mr Dlamini, who engaged with applicants to find out how they felt about the process and also assisted at the card collection point.
In an era where it is difficult to get service with a smile, it was such a pleasure to see that there are still those who take their jobs seriously and work towards providing great service.
To the DHA team, keep up the good work.
HAPPY CITIZEN
