Victory for Bevis and Bernd

South Coast golfers win big at annual golf day.

‘WORK is for people who can not play golf.’

Bevis Fairbrother and Bernd Kankowski proved the famous saying wrong when they mustered up 49 points to win the Empangeni Country Club Golf Day on Saturday after playing a solid 18 hole round.

A total of 146 golfers grabbed their clubs and followed a 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford format in great weather conditions, with the hopes of hitting a hole-in-one and driving home in a brand new golf cart.

Unfortunately no one managed to claim the grand prize, but fun was still had on the course and at the 19th hole.
