Local swimmers hit the medals

SIX local swimmers competed at the SA Level 1 and 2 regional group championships in Sasolburg recently.

Kimberly Swan claimed a hat-trick of medals in the Girls U15 age group.

Swan propelled her way to gold in the 100m butterfly event, claiming silver in the 50m butterfly and rounding off with bronze in the 50m freestyle.

Kayla Wafer claimed silver in the girls 50m breaststroke event and qualifed for the 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.

Laura Wafer qualified for the girls U16 finals in 100m and 50m breaststroke events.

Jenna McNally scooped two medals, a silver in the Girls U13 50m backstroke and bronze in the 50m freestyle.

She also qualified for the 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly events.
