Technology, the Black Sheep

Since the dawn of civilization humans have been dependent on some form of technology, from the Mesopotamians developing a writing system to fulfil the need to transcend information, to the development of new systems inspiring mankind to further investigate and advance his knowledge. This has now led to the exploration of Mars and to exploring the universe and beyond.

Our daily lives have improved exponentially due to technological progression, yet people are quick to criticise technology as a result of their lack of interpersonal skills. The truth is, technology is not a new discovery that has progressed to such a level that it has turned us into mindless zombies, rather the discovery and development of new ideas are resulting in the expansion of thought. If there is no progression, regression would soon take over and throw us back into the dark ages.

Therefore we should not fear or be so quick to discriminate against technology, but rather embrace the digital age that is today.

It should be taken into account that it is not technology that is negatively influencing our daily lives as much as it is large corporations that are disrupting our train of thought and enticing us to have everything done for us.

It is up to us to take responsibility into our own hands and educate our children in the same way.
