Pensioner’s drug case transferred

Govindama Moodley will go on trial in the Ngwelezane Court in May.

THE court case of Richards Bay pensioner, Govindama Moodley charged with possession of drugs and suspected stolen property has been transferred to Ngwelezane Court.

Moodley appeared briefly in the Richards Bay Magistrates Court on Wednesday on four charges of being in possession of five blocks of cocaine, 10 mandrax tablets, a bucket of dagga and stolen property including cell phones and jewellery.

The 66 -year -old charged in March last year, after police raided her property in Cibotium Street where they discovered the drug haul and other suspected stolen items, will be back in court on 5 May.

The matter will be trialled in the Ngwelezane Court.
