Ushaka Swim Club takes 23 medals
Evan Weyermüller swims a Youth National Championship record time for his 100m Breaststroke.
TEN local swimmers earned 23 medals and an eighth ranking out of 39 clubs.
This is what Ushaka Swimming Club achieved at the SA LEVEL 2 Championships last Thursday in Sasolburg.
Even though Ushaka Swimming Club was one of the smallest competing squads, they still managed to walk away with a total medal count of seven gold, 11 silver and five bronze.
One of the highlights of the championship was Evan Weyermüller swimming a Youth National Championship record time for his 100m Breaststroke and he will now be competing at the Youth National Championship on 11 April.
Next on the events list will be the Prestige Gala in June and then the annual Seagulls Short Course Championship in August.
Coach Francios Boshoff said they are satisfied with the results, but are aiming to encourage a higher level of competition during the next swim season.
