AMELIA Britz, in Grade 12 at Richards Bay High School, became the first official female referee in the Richards Bay and Zululand area when she recently qualified to control one of the most physical games on the world sporting circuit.
It was the love of the game of rugby that inspired this young lady to take up refereeing.
She was in action this past week at the Felixton Rugby Week.
This is just the start of what promises to be a great career, as she aims at qualifying to become a national and international referee.
The Zululand Referee Association is currently arranging matches for this talented lady to blow.
