Heuwelland’s feast of sport
Spectators, parents and coaches were treated to some great sporting action.
PRIMARY Schools sent their first teams (U13) to the 26th Asjas Steenkamp Sports Day at Heuwelland Primary School on Saturday, where teams competed in rugby, hockey and netball.
Each side played two matches on the day, with a total of 13 schools participating.
With selectors watching each sporting code, to select the top ten players on the day, participants came out leaving everything on the sports field.

Hockey – Niccea Strydom (Lucas Meyer), Lisa Grobbelaar (Lucas Meyer), Mikelle Botes (Veldenvlei), Tasmin Anderson (Heuwelland), Sinotheli Gumede (Richardia), Janneke Schwab (Lucas Meyer), Mieke van der Walt (Piet Retief), Zarli Minnie (Richards Bay Primary), Simone Stapelberg (Piet Retief) and Amphiwe Nene (Felixton College).
Netball – Denja Pretorius (Piet Retief), Nandipha Sukazi (Piet Retief), Nonjabulu Mhlongo (Veldenvlei), Andisa Kwela (Veldenvlei), Tasmin Vosloo (Port Natal), Larochell Kok (Port Natal), Kayla Williamson (Port Natal), Megan Pienaar (Port Natal), Akwandokuhle Khuzwayo (Richardia) and Scebile Mkhwanazi (Richardia).
