SPEED, hand-offs and huge crunching hits were the name of the game on Friday at the High Schools’ 7-A-Side Rugby Tournament hosted by Richards Bay Christian School (RBCS) at the Richards Bay Rugby Club.
A total of five teams competed in the open boys category, with four sides participating in the U15 section.
The schools that participated were: John Ross College, Richards Bay Christian School (RBCS), eShowe High School, Felixton College and Creston College.
Teams competed in 10-minute games (five minutes each half) which made fitness and speed a vital component for the game.
All sides showcased great rugby skills and team play.
The U15 final saw Felixton College claim the crown after beating the hosts (RBCS) in a cracker of a game.
The open final was a beast of a game with both sides leaving it all on the park, but it was eShowe High School that snuffed out Creston College to claim the open crown.
