Five out of five for Garage Boys

Local guys dominate at Empangenin fight.

MARTIN de Beer of Garage Boys won the Africa Fight League (AFL) Feather Weight title after a Technical Knock-Out (TKO) win over S’bonga Masango in a fight that lasted only one round at the Imbizo Hall in Empangeni on Saturday.

The local Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) club – ‘Garage Boys’ dominated the event when all five fighters scooped victory in their encounters.

Piesang van Huisen brought home the first win, after a unanimous score over Super Warriors fighter Sbahle Mpanza.

Shane Campbell kept the winning streak going after he arm-barred Ntanda Nzama, forcing a tap-out to claim victory.

Slugga Gumede then dominated his fight against Lloyd Robbins to continue the form of the local club.

Andrew Smart then wrapped proceedings for the local club when he choked Vaughn Bricknell from ‘The Zoo’ to claim the fifth win for the local lads. There were 14 fights in total with three title fights and one ladies’ fight.
