I don’t like cricket, I love it!

Promising cricketers on the pitch

A TOTAL of 336 children came out to the uMhlathuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay on Saturday for the KFC Mini Cricket Festival, which saw 12 local schools competing on the day.

Every cricketer’s career starts at mini cricket level, with local Protea bowler Kyle Abbott being perfect example.

Co-organised by Teresa Wickham (Felixton College) and Andrea O’ Connor (Richards Bay Christian School), the children were given t-shirts and caps for their participation.

But at the end of the day, cricket was the overall winner.
