Help Harris achieve his dream
Quinton's next challenge is to receive international classification
LOCAL disabled swimmer Quinton Harris has literally propelled himself to great heights in South African swimming, currently holding 12 SA Disability records in the S4, SM4 and SB3 categories.
His achievements serve as testimony of his fighting spirit after he was declared clinically dead in a near-drowning incident when he was still a toddler, which left him with certain impairments.
Despite surviving and having to learn to overcome the traumatic event, Harris lost his father in a motor vehicle accident, leaving his mother to support all four children.
Quinton’s next challenge is to receive international classification towards the ultimate aim of earning a world ranking and being selected for the world championships and Paralympics.
Unfortunately the huge financial costs involved are forcing the talented swimmer to seek financial assistance from the Zululand community to help him realise his dream.
To attain classification, Harris needs to attend the 2014 British National Disabled Championship, which he qualified for.
