ONE suspect was shot in a high speed chase to recover a hijacked vehicle near Thandaza area in KwaMbonambi on Tuesday night.
Cartrack, Tracker and the KwaMbonambi SAPS were alerted at about 8.30pm following the hijacking of a Toyota Quantum, which was fitted with a tracking device.
In the attempt to track and return the stolen vehicle, one suspect shot and pronounced dead at the scene while two others fled on foot.
The vehicle was recovered and a toy gun and cellphone was found in the victim’s possession.
