PROVIDENCE played a part in getting three bales of much-needed clothing delivered to iZulu Orphan Projects on Tuesday.
When Zululand Observer Editor and DICE representative, Dave Savides, in his capacity as a marriage officer, visited the Department of Home Affairs in December to hand in a register, he chanced in conversation to learn from DHA official Sharon Dreyer that her church had secured clothing for the orphanage.
However, there was no means of getting the bales from the donor, the Johannesburg-based Lutheran Communion in Southern Africa, to the recipients.
One phone call to Yusuf Suliman, manager at DHL in Richards Bay was all it took to arrange for the collection in Johannesburg and the delivery to Kate Bain at iZulu.
‘It’s a pleasure to assist the community whenever we can, especially for such a worthy cause as this,’ said Yusuf.
Kate was thrilled at receiving the clothes and expressed profuse thanks to all who facilitated the donation.
