A DRIVER and his co-driver were arrested on Thursday evening for breaking Covid-19 regulations after being found with a truck full of alcohol beverages in eSikhaleni.
Police received a tip-off about the truck parked at KwaMadlanduna Tavern in the uMkhobose area.
Inside the truck, police found beer, wine and ciders worth hundreds of thousands of rands. Apart from the arrests, police also confiscated the truck.
According to eSikhaleni SAPS spokesperson, Capt Thembinkosi Mkhumane, the arrest was the result of the community working together with the police.
‘We rely on our residents to report such crimes to us,’ he said.
He again reminded residents and business owners to adhere to the lockdown regulations.
