Grant payments proceed smoothly after initial system glitch this week

THE South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in KZN has cleared a glitch in its payment system that affected pension and disability grant payments on Monday.

According to the provincial agency, following the incident, funds were released to beneficiaries’ accounts on the same day and payments progressed smoothly thereafter without major challenges.

SASSA has apologised to all beneficiaries for the inconvenience caused and encouraged those with enquiries or affected beneficiaries to call the SASSA customer care number 033 846 3400 or 0800 601011.
