Mandeni mayor and taxi bosses join hands to fight Covid-19
Mdlalose expressed concern about the high number of infected people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Ilembe District

MANDENI Mayor Thabani Mdlalose, accompanied by SANTACO and other taxi association leaders, visited Emacambini and Sundumbili taxi ranks last Sunday to help sanitise taxis to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Mdlalose expressed concern about the high number of infected people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Ilembe District.
He said despite information campaigns and the promotion of using of sanitisers and the wearing of masks, especially in busy areas, the numbers are still rising every day.
‘We obviously target the taxi ranks because of the congestion of people there’ said Mdlalose.
Emacambini Taxi Association Chairperson, Sibongiseni Kubheka, expressed his commitment to work with Mandeni Municipality to ensure safety precautions are not neglected at taxi ranks.
‘We ensure passengers are sanitised before entering our taxis and we will remain vigilant,’
