No compromise on wearing face masks in taxis
Arrests will be made if commuters are found without face masks inside taxis

DESPITE numerous reports of taxi commuters being arrested for not wearing face masks during their travels around Zululand over the weekend, police have not yet confirmed such cases.
King Cetshwayo police cluster spokesperson, Capt Mbongeni Mdlalose, has urged consumers to adhere to all lockdown regulations, or suffer the consequences.

‘We are now on level 4 and the government has clearly stated that anyone venturing outside must wear a mask to prevent themselves and others from becoming infected with the coronavirus.
‘Rules are there to protect us and we will definitely make arrests if we find people roaming around in shopping centres or boarding taxis without their masks on,’ Mdlalose said.
According to him, the loading capacity for taxis remains at 70% and social distancing must be practiced.
Drivers must ensure passengers obey to the rules.
While the Covid-19 lockdown was reduced to level 4 on Friday, police continue to monitor movements and conducting roadblocks around the region.
At roadblocks vehicles are stopped, checked and those found breaking regulations are given heavy fines.
