Cops confiscate Grim Reaper’s secret dagga stash hidden in coffin

Cops open coffin and discover hidden dagga parcels at N2 roadblock

TWO men transporting about 80kg of dagga hidden in a coffin, were arrested at a roadblock on the N2 near the Mavalane area in Pongola this morning.
Pongola police made the arrest while stopping and checking motorists’ permits to travel during the countrywide lockdown.
Zululand cluster police spokesperson, Captain Nkosie Gwala, said the men did produce a travel permit, which indicated they represented a funeral parlour and were ferrying a corpse.
‘The officers searched the vehicle, but also demanded to inspect the inside of the coffin. In it they discovered 30 wrapped bags of dagga weighing 80kg,’ Gwala said.
‘The two suspects, aged 32 and 34, were arrested and their vehicle confiscated. They are expected to appear in the Pongola Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.’
