
SIXTEEN people were injured on Sunday, 26 January, when the bakkie in which they were travelling reportedly overturned on the N2 near Mkhuze.
The single-vehicle accident resulted in all 16 occupants suffering injuries, three critical, although none fatal.
A team of paramedics from KZN Emergency Services were first to arrive on the scene, joined later by a private ambulance whose paramedics assisted in treating the injured. The paramedics aboard several ambulances worked together to examine, diagnose and treat the patients before transferring them to Bethesda Hospital.
SAPS is investigating the accident, the cause of which is yet to be determined.
